Zone 1

The lowest heart-rate band in the App, used for easier movement and recovery phases.

Below the first boundary

Zone 1 is below resting heart rate + 60% of heart-rate reserve. It covers a broad lower band; it does not mean exactly 50–60% of maximum heart rate. Read the heart-rate zones overview for the calculation.[1]

A role beyond warming up

The App may choose Zone 1 for the main walking or cycling work. It also uses Zone 1 as the planned intensity between harder bouts. An easier session is a complete plan, not an unfinished step toward a higher number.[1][2]

A low reading is only one clue

Heart rate does not return to resting level immediately after exercise. A planned easy recovery phase and the zone recorded during it may therefore differ. Conversely, a low reading alone does not establish that you have recovered or should work harder.
